Mora-Maskeroni theorem

The Mora-Maskeroni theorem says that any construction you can do with a compass and straightedge can also be done with only a compass. That means, if you have a compass (for drawing circles) but no straightedge (for drawing straight lines), you can still solve all the same geometric construction problems.

Important properties

• Every point that can be constructed with compass and straightedge can also be constructed with compass alone.

• The straightedge is not necessary for classical geometric constructions.

• The theorem does not mean you can draw straight lines with a compass, but you can find the intersection points that would be found using straight lines.
