The Classic River Crossing

A farmer wants to cross a river and take with him a wolf, a goat, and a cabbage.

His boat can fit himself plus one other item at a time.

The danger:

• If the wolf and goat are left alone, the wolf will eat the goat
• If the goat and cabbage are left alone, the goat will eat the cabbage

Goal: Get the farmer, wolf, goat, and cabbage all safely across the river.
